Masterful Craftsmanship for Life at Sea
Jorge’s journey in woodworking began in his childhood in Colombia and evolved after he moved to the United States in 1999, building event sets across the nation. His true passion emerged in New York City, where he began creating bespoke furniture and refining his skills in precision craftsmanship.

Specializing in luxury yacht interiors and refits, Jorge brings unparalleled expertise to every vessel he touches. His portfolio includes sophisticated helm renovations most notably the helm refit for the yacht Honey Fitz as well as custom cabinetry, fine woodwork, and intricate interior enhancements. His precision extends to architectural details such as custom stairs, doors, and outdoor structures, alongside notable commercial interior projects including The Forge in Miami Beach and STK in New York and Atlanta.

In 2018, Jorge and his partner, Destiny, founded JD Benchmade with a singular mission: to deliver artisanal, handcrafted work that elevates both aesthetics and functionality.
