Meet The Lead Craftsman.....
Jorge's love for building things started at an early age while growing up in Colombia. His passion grew stronger when he moved to the United States in 1999 and began building sets all over the nation for various events. He then began building custom furniture while working in New York City when he realized that he found his passion in life. His experience includes hand crafted custom furniture, construction of sets, yacht refitting, outdoor structures, custom stairs, custom doors as well interior commercial remodels of known restaurants such as The Forge in Miami Beach and STK in New York/Atlanta. Jorge and his partner Destiny opened JD Benchmade in 2018 with an emphasis on craftsmanship and artistry over mass production. Their mission is to make quality handmade furniture available to those who do not want to purchase mass produced store bought furniture.
